This hospital inaugurated in 2013, is one of the major regional hospitals in Portugal, both in terms of capacity and of services and specialties offered. As a new venture managed in the model of public private partnership, it aimed for excellence in the creation of a healthy, welcoming space, bioclimatic integration and effective use of energy and resources. DeepBlue Energy was the main consultant advising hospital management in all aspect of the installations energy efficiency and building sustainability, including lighting, bioclimatic integration and temperature control.

The Hospital of Vila Franca de Xira is today a highly ranked health establishment, and has been attributed several excellence certificates and awards both for the services and for the installations.
